Daryl made landfall in Nanaimo in March of 2010. He started his career in Northern Alberta and survived not only bad winters but nasty Edmonton Oiler fans. Originally from Surrey, he was lucky enough to get out alive and with his car. He believes the greatest gift to the world is the music of The Beatles. His favourite drink is the next one, and when he's not at work he's reading and avoiding reality television.
Ray Evans
Weekday Mornings | 6am - 10am
Ray lists his origins as 'parts unknown.' He has traveled all over the face of the earth, and so really the only thing left is for him is to be blasted into space. He is ecstatic that the Jets have returned to Winnipeg, but still loves the Canucks. When we asked him what his favourite animal was, he replied 'Daryl Major.' When not on The Wave morning show, Ray can be found making his Christmas gift wish list for this year and dropping not-so-subtle hints around the office about what we should stuff his stocking with.
Heather Yoner
Weekdays | 10am - 2pm
Heather has been around these parts since 1984, so it's a given that she calls Nanaimo her hometown now. In her spare time, Heather enjoys teaching her dog to successfully retrieve her shoes, newspaper, coffee, and any other household item she deems appropriate. She counts getting her nails done as her favourite sport. Oh, and if you want to get in Heather's good graces, a gift of chocolates or a blueberry/cream soda/root beer slurpee will suffice.
Kent Wilson
Weekdays | 2pm - 6pm
This good looking gentleman is the voice you hear every weekday afternoon! Kent enjoys Bon Jovi, a nice steak, a cold drink, and long walks on the beach (not necessarily in that order). In his spare time, he has been secretly training to compete in The Iditarod Sled Dog Race up in Alaska with his trusted Siberian Husky pack. If he denies this and instead says he loves baseball, hockey, & skiing, he's telling the truth.
Paul Morrow
Saturdays 9am - 3pm | Sundays 10am - 7pm
Paul hails from across the water in Pitt Meadows and his favourite band and Halloween costume is The Cure. Paul's weird obsession is never getting into a car that isn't blue in colour. His favourite thing in the whole world are Sundays and when he's not at the studio, Paul can be found eating Fish 'n' Chips down by the water.
Hope your furry friend isn't camera shy! Email Paul with your furry friend to win The Wave's Furry Friend of the Week!
Graeme Tait
Saturdays 6am - 9am | Sundays 6am - 10am
Graeme hails from up the Island Highway in Comox. He likes to stay active by playing ping-pong and running the trails in and around beautiful Nanaimo. Graeme says his favourite day is St. Patrick's Day, and he is currently lobbying the government to make it an official holiday on the calendar.
Dylan Leard
Saturdays 7pm - 12am
Dylan is from that city on the southern tip of the Island with all the government buildings...Victoria! Unknown to most, Dylan can juggle 5 swords at a time while reciting the alphabet backwards. When he's not at the station, Dylan usually spends most of his time designing his next Halloween costume (his favourite day of the year). If you want him to play a song, he can be easily bribed with Michael Buble merchandise.
