NANAIMO — Another COVID-19 exposure event occurred at a Snuneymuxw First Nation school.
SD68 notified the public on Tuesday, April 20 about a COVID-19 exposure event at Qwam Qwum Stuwixwulh lasting from April 13 to 15.
There were previous exposure events at the school in late January and early February.
SFN recently declared itself COVID-19 free, having gone 28 days since an exposure after a large cluster at the beginning of the year.
At the time, chief Mike Wyse said despite most of the community being vaccinated, caution was still needed as the third wave of COVID-19 continued.
Qwam Qwum Stuwixwulh is the third Nanaimo school to recently join the Island Health school exposure list.
Also listed is Fairview and Pleasant Valley elementary.
