NANAIMO — Nearly three thousand BC Hydro customers are without power following a motor vehicle incident south of Nanaimo.
A delivery truck reportedly hit a hydro pole on the Trans Canada Hwy in the Morden Rd. area at about 3:45 Wednesday afternoon.
Hydro lines are reported down with widespread outages in the area, impacting the South Wellington, Cedar and Gabriola Island areas.
No word yet on any injuries, with BC Hydro is working to bring back power to the affected customers.
Traffic disruptions appear to be minimal as a result.
