Ethan Mistry’s hot season continued with a power play goal on a rebound to give Nanaimo a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
The Clippers extended their lead to 2-0 on another man advantage in the middle frame.
Michael Craig scored in his second straight game with a quick shot from the slot.
It was a penalty filled period with.a total of 15 infractions including a fight between Charles Tardif and the Grizzlies Jacksenn Hungle, a blow to the head minor and ten minute misconduct for Nanaimo’s Skyler Cameron and a double minor for high sticking to Victoria’s Cam Smith.
Brody Waters and Jeremie Payant on a penalty shot put the Clippers firmly in the drivers seat early in the third period, before a pair of late Victoria tallies by Anthony Carone on the power play and Nathan King gave the home team a spark.
Mistry capped off a three point net with an empty netter to seal Nanaimo’s fourth straight victory.
The final shots were 44-34 for VIctoria with Nanaimo going 2/5 on the man advantage and 3/4 on the penalty kill.
Aidan Campbell got the win in net over the Grizzlies Oliver Auyeung-Ashton.
The Clippers will start a stretch of four games in six days with a home make up game against the Cranbrook Bucks on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
