NANAIMO — Year one will be remembered as a success for the Nanaimo NightOwls.
Their 22-32 left them narrowly out of the playoffs, fan support grew throughout the 69 season and the NightOwls made inroads in the fan and sponsorship community.
Co-owner Jim Swanson said an increase in pitching depth is one reason he sees a much better onfield record for the team in 2023.
“We feel like we have the pitching depth that was our achilles heel in the first season. We’re going to throw more strikes, we’re going to put our defense into play, we’re going to have more strikeouts and we’re going to have more guys we can go to.”
