NANAIMO — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Nanaimo man after missing a court date following an arrest related to allegedly bringing a handgun into a local bar.
Police say on Oct. 20, 32-year-old Alexander Howell walked into a local pub and was seen with a firearm. Howell then allegedly got into an altercation with another individual, when Howell pulled out the handgun and pointed it.
No shots were fired and Howell left in a vehicle.
He was located and arrested ten days later and released on conditions.
He has since failed to appear in court and warrants were issued for his arrest, for use of an imitation firearm, carry a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon.
Howell is described as an Indigenous man, 5’10”, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
He has a tattoo of a rose surrounding his neck.
If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Alexander Howell, they’re asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
