NANAIMO — Active case counts have remained relatively stable for Island Health.
The province and public health reported 108 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, June 15, including five confirmed by Island Health.
Active cases in the health authority remained relatively stable, up marginally to 56. The central Island remained unchanged with seven active cases, while seven are now present in the north and 41 in the south.
Of the five cases added on Tuesday, one each were from the north and central Island, while the south Island accounted for the remaining three.
Province-wide, 1,496 cases are active which represents a drop of 41 from Monday’s numbers.
Patients in hospital for COVID-19 symptoms stayed relatively stable with 139 admitted including 39 in intensive care.
Just under 55,000 doses of vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, with now over 4.1 million vaccines given.
A vast majority of the shots, over 80 per cent, given in the last day were second doses.
