GABRIOLA ISLAND — A cyclist was flown to hospital after a high-speed crash on Gabriola Island.
They fell to the pavement just after 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16 on North Rd. on the hill leading to the ferry terminal.
BC Emergency Health Services informed NanaimoNewsNOW the cyclist is in serious, but stable condition after being flown to Victoria General Hospital.
The cyclist was cared for by paramedics on the island prior to the flight to Victoria.
The patient was reported to be semi-conscious when emergency responders arrived.
