NANAIMO — Police say a man sustained minor injuries following an altercation with several other men at a Second St. home.
It happened on Thursday, Jan. 6 around 6:50 p.m. at the home near Craig St. where police said a suspect vehicle attempted to flee the scene.
Four men in the vehicle, all from Nanaimo, were arrested without incident following an alleged forced entry and assault.
One of them, a 35-year-old, was charged with assault with a weapon and released from custody with a March 15 court appearance scheduled.
The remaining men were released from custody without charges, a Nanaimo RCMP news release noted.
“It appears at this time the incident was an isolated deliberate event, and that there is no further risk to the public,” Cst. Gary O’Brien said in the release.
The victim was a man in his early 20’s.
