NANAIMO — The driver and lone occupant of a concrete pump truck was not injured after losing control of his vehicle on Nanaimo’s Hammond Bay Rd.
The large truck veered off the road’s shoulder and landed on its side, resting on a residential property near Berkeley Pl.
It happened on Friday, July 8 just before 2 p.m., resulting in damage to the truck and a flattened wire fence.
Multiple tow trucks were tasked to the scene for a challenging retrieval of the large truck, which had fallen over a short embankment.
Traffic was disrupted on a portion of Hammond Bay due to a tipped over concrete pump truck. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8. (Ian Holmes/NanaimoNewsNOW)The driver of the pump truck remained on scene to speak with investigators.
A Nanaimo Fire Rescue captain on scene did not immediatly have details about why the accident occurred.
A detour was established around the accident site via Nottingham Dr. to allow responding crews room to work.
Traffic was disrupted for several hours as a result of the fallen truck.
