VICTORIA — Vancouver Islanders can get an up-close look at the Vancouver Canucks over the next few days.
The team is set up in Victoria for the next four days with training camp sessions running daily between Thursday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 24 at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Sixty players are at camp, including former Nanaimo Clipper defenceman Matt Irwin, who grew up in nearby Brentwood Bay.
Irwin, 35, signed a one year, two-way contract with the Canucks on July 1 and will bring past NHL experience with him to the team, having played previously with six other NHL teams, most recently the Washington Capitals last season.
