My hard working father
From the day I can remember my father was always working, which meant he was away from the home frequently, he brought me mementos from his trips including dolls sporting the national costumes of the countries he visited.
When the recession hit in the 1980s he was creative in finding work in the UK. When the hurricane hit the south of England in 1987 he bought a chainsaw and helped many families with downed trees.
Despite his work demands I have fond memories of going to parks, walking our dog and many evenings at home playing board games and quizzes.
In 2001 he has the opportunity to move to Canada for his work and did so without hesitation.
Six years later I followed him here to this amazing country to be closer to my father for his retirement. Of course he did not retire for years.
During retirement he has filled his days with numerous volunteer events, being a member of the rotary, running a charity for hospital equipment, and various local causes. Always happy to donate his time to those in need.
I have not seen my father since 2020 due to the pandemic, making me realize how important it is to have regular, physical contact with my family.
He is the best HD has been a great role model.
