My hubby the survivor
I am nominating my wonderful husband of 29 years.
He has probably broken every bone in his body at some point! Despite breaking his back in numerous places and being told he wouldn't walk again, he refused to give in and with determination and damn good chiropractic care he didn't spend long in a wheelchair! He may be a few inches shorter than when we said "I do" but I'll take that any day.
Last year, despite being very fit, he suffered a massive "widow maker" heart attack and again, with an amazing team in the cardiac unit in Victoria, he pulled through and 9 months later was hiking Mt. Benson easily (2 weeks ago).
He tries to be an inspiration for others going through similar circumstances and is " living his best life". After all, we only have one. And ... I only have one husband and he is my soul mate and best dad to our daughter. I thank him every day for being a fighter because without him, I would be truly adrift.
