Superhero = Dad
My dad is my superhero. I have always admired him and looked up to him. He was present in our childhood (bike rides, crafts, camping trips, weekend escapes) and remains so involved and encouraging in our adulthood. He has been an absolutely incredible grandpa to his 6 grand kids and he continues to make himself available for us as much as he is able. He is an amazing member of the community volunteering his time with the hospital, local clinics, our church, helping friends with whatever they need help with (even when they don't ask, he just knows when a helping hand is needed), doing missions work overseas, among many other things. He participated in Tour De Rock in 2017 to raise funds for childhood cancers and he continues to care about all of the people he has encountered throughout his life. He is a retired police officer and has been busy helping others just like he did when he was working. That shows you how wonderful a man he is.
My dad has overcome many hurdles since I've been alive and I am FOREVER grateful that he won against those hurdles so he could be there to see us get married, and be around for his grandchildren. He is my rock. He is my daddy. He really is my superhero.
