Best Step Father Ever
The story goes like this: At age 29 he met this wonderful woman who 31 and had 2 daughters and was done having children. those girls were 9 and 11 and were a hand full involved in sports, school activities, puberty and attitude. He never had children and had no experience around children, so it was a bit scary and uncertain how things would work out.
This wonderful man proposed to their mother 6 months after courtship, dived right in to be at her side to help raised those girls. 10 months after they met, they got married and he became the wonderful support she needed with those girls. He was a good listener, mature, patient, wise beyond his years, helping with homework, driver, supporter and the girls and him could have conversations about just anything. Honestly I don't know how I could have made it without him. He was right there beside me step by step through the good and the bad times with love and understanding.
26 years later he is still by my side now a grandpa playing the same role he did 25 years ago and it is beautiful to see. I cannot thank him enough for all his support and always putting my children first. He now is down on his luck and would deserve that BBQ.
